Bad Operators have given fracking a bad name in some quarters, and there are aspects of fracking that inconvenience those who live near a well. But the fact is, every form of energy extraction inconveniences someone who lives nearby. Even wind and solar can inconvenience someone who lives nearby, or so the NIMBY's who fight those things claim.
We don't have an economy or economic wealth or anything anyone cares about in their life style or basic sustenance without energy.
